ABOUT THE SITE
About Paycheck Atlas
Independent educational paycheck tools
Our purpose
Paycheck Atlas is an independent calculator website created to help workers translate gross compensation into a clearer planning estimate of take-home pay. It is not a payroll processor, tax-preparation service, employer, government agency, or financial adviser.
How the calculators work
The tools annualize the income entered by a visitor, apply published federal and location-specific 2026 withholding methods, estimate Social Security and Medicare, account for selected pre-tax deductions, and divide the result by the selected pay schedule. State-specific fields appear when a method needs an elected rate, certificate code, exemption count, paycheck date, or user-entered local rate.
Sources and review
Federal and state constants are reviewed against publications from the Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, and the relevant government revenue or labor agency. We review the calculators when a new tax year begins or when a material rule changes, but payroll results can still differ because of withholding certificates, credits, benefits, local rules, year-to-date wages, and employer payroll methods. The methodology page lists the source used for every location engine.
