What this Texas paycheck calculator includes

Texas state income tax

Texas does not impose an individual state income tax on wages, so the state income-tax line is zero. Federal income tax and FICA still apply, and employee benefits or court-ordered deductions may reduce take-home pay.

How the estimate is calculated

The calculator annualizes wages, subtracts eligible pre-tax amounts, applies the IRS 2026 automated percentage method for a current Form W-4 with no Step 2 checkbox or credits, calculates Social Security and Medicare, and divides the result by the selected pay frequency.

When the result may differ

Multiple jobs, W-4 credits, additional income, bonuses, tips, qualified overtime, benefit eligibility, year-to-date Social Security wages, and payroll rounding can change the amount on an employer-issued check.
